What Folks Are Saying

Providing the peace of mind our clients get from achieving their business and financial goals is why we do what we do.

We’re practicing what we preach; transparency! Below you'll find our two negative reviews.

Former client’s son’s Google review:

“My mother was having health issues and we were late in submitting her taxes. We paid the IRS by the deadline and were asked if we wanted a hard copy or email for her return. That was the last communication from Anne’s office to us. The next thing we heard from Anne was that my mother’s tax return has not been submitted and that we are being dropped for lack of communication. They dropped the ball tried to put the onus on us. Terrible customer service.”

Our response:

We attempted to contact this client’s son by phone and email on 8 different occasions between April and September. None of our calls or emails were returned. Without data a tax return cannot be prepared.

Former client’s Google review:

“My family used Anne and her team for years. They were fine. But the last couple years was not good. The straw that broke the camels back was when they made a mistake with my mom‘s taxes. They insisted on charging her $75 fee to help fix their mistake. When we objected, they said they would not submit her completed tax return until we paid the $75. Not happy, we paid the $75. They had us. Then a month later they refunded the $75 and admitted it was a mistake. Just terrible customer service. I had a similar event occur with my taxes as well.”

Our response:

During 2021 the IRS was behind in processing over 15 million 2020 returns and other pieces of mail. No mistake had been made; the IRS had not paid the Economic Impact Payment for the deceased father. We were authorized to attempt resolution, and when we billed $75 our fees were not paid. As stated in the Engagement Letter the client signed, we do reserve the right to withhold our work product until fees are paid. While we understand the frustration with the IRS, we were not to blame.

Now for our Rave Reviews

It was a genuine pleasure to speak with you yesterday and we thank you for taking the extra time.  You provided us with the exact kind of knowledge and solutions we have been seeking.  I am very excited to see what the future holds for our company knowing that we have you folks in our corner!!  We have finally found our missing piece, thank you again.

On a side note, I need to thank you again.  Since starting our coaching/lifesaving decision making sessions my credit score has increased by 40 points.

Team:  I just want to thank you for your professionalism, your efficiency, your knowledge, your true caring and your friendship.  I feel very blessed to have found you.

More importantly, I’d like to thank you for “holding my feet to the fire” these last 20+ years financially!  Again, if it weren’t for you, I would not have been able to comfortably retire at 60.  Your no-nonsense reality checks were exactly what I needed and they saved by backside!  I am forever “indebted” to you (Couldn’t help it!!) Seriously though, you are the reason I became hyper focused to save, live below my means, abhor debt, pay off mortgages (Cape and Portsmouth) and overall become financially secure.

At a recent meeting with our fellow franchise owners, our regional advisor made a point of telling the group that we have a terrific accountant guiding us.  Thanks to you Anne, our balance sheet is in great shape.  You have prompted us to make some tough decisions when we needed to and now we are positioned for growth for years to come.

Thank you again Anne for all your help and guidance.   You have been wonderful.  I am very excited for all that is coming this year and in the future.  New building, Kelly’s new business and to continuing to push and grow mine.  I really appreciate your guidance and thought along the way.  If you hadn’t pushed back the way that you did when Kelly was considering buying into that practice a couple of years ago, we wouldn’t be making these moves now.

I wanted to thank you again for recommending Anne Holliday to us.  It has taken a bit longer than I had planned to connect with her due to the 2020 issues, but we finally met with her yesterday.  All I can say is WOW, she is FABULOUS!!!  I look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with her firm.  I wish I would have known about her 20 years ago, I would be retired by now.  You definitely did us a solid on this one!!

Over ten years ago Anne helped me build a long-range plan that included strategies for college, retirement and real estate.  She took time to understand my values, helped me articulate my goals and advised on how to make my dreams come true.  Anne coaches the entire person and coaches for the long haul.  Over the years we have touched base on progress to plan and made adjustments based upon the economy, personal events and career moves.  Today I have two college graduates (with tuition money to spare), a healthy retirement package and a wonderful home that perfectly fits my new globetrotting lifestyle.  I am so very thankful for Anne’s guidance.

Anne and her staff are a pleasure to work with and her rates are more than reasonable for the value we receive.  Though maintaining her independence, Anne is like a key employee and is integral to our company.  We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a high-level CPA.  Anne is as good as it gets.

Anne is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with.  Beyond her exemplary financial skillset, she has a long-time commitment to serving local non-profits.  She is a wonderful member of the community and has a staff that reflects her outlook and good humor.

After my first coaching session with Anne I felt empowered and energized to grow my business.  Her ability to understand not only the financial aspects of my business decisions but my own personal goals is a character trait that I’m convinced only she possesses.  I am excited and optimistic about the direction my growing business is heading and I feel like I truly have a winning team behind me.

What one looks for in a professional is intellectual acumen, which you have in great abundance, but also the practical insights and empathy which gives one some options to consider when making important life decisions.  You get the highest marks on both counts Anne.

Anne is truly remarkable at what she does.  She brings to the table a level of confidence and passion that is far superior to what I have seen from other advisors.  Anne and her staff are a great and efficient team.  My only regret with Anne is that I did not find her sooner.

Anne not only provides the advice I need today but insight on what I need to be thinking about tomorrow.  She is an indispensable resource and goes above and beyond what most CPAs would do.  I believe that there are very few business professionals who possess the vision and strategic acumen to be successful in work in both the profit and not for profit worlds, Anne Holliday is one of them.

If you are looking for someone to always agree with you and tell you that you are right, skip Anne Holliday.  She is extremely knowledgeable and confident.  Anne has guided our estate planning through the proper use of trusts and transfers of wealth.  We would not think of making a significant financial decision without her.

I recommend Anne regularly to clients and friends in need of guidance, and regularly receive thanks for pointing folks in her direction.  She is the perfect blend of affable and direct.  A great example of her drive and conscientiousness can be found in her decades of not for profit work in the community.  Anne will ask anyone for anything if it will benefit her not for profit interests!

For the past twenty years, Carpe Diem Coffee Roasting Company has happily teamed with Anne Holliday, CPA. After several false starts with prior accountants, we quickly saw the value of her services. Anne has successfully seen Carpe Diem through a number of challenging economic climates (2008 recession, volatile coffee prices, and even LePage).

Anne is:

  • Timely

  • Reliable

  • Loyal

  • Thorough

  • Knowledgeable

  • Comprehensible

  • Forward Looking

  • High Organized

  • Generous/charitable

  • And most importantly, she’s pretty good at math
